NVGSA is pleased to offer an 18U Advanced Skills Clinic for our older players this off-season! Click on the Register! button to sign up for this clinic.
The clinic will run for 4 weeks from 10am-12pm on Sundays, beginning on March 2, 2014 and ending on March 23, 2014. Our Lorton facility is located at 8815-C Telegraph Road, Lorton, VA 22079.
Clinic will focus on advanced hitting drills to include directional bunting and hitting to the opposite field. Will at least introduce girls to drag bunting and slapping from the left side. Will hit off the tee, side toss, front toss, heavy balls and batting cage. Fielding will focus primarily on ground balls, feet placement for fielding, outfield blocking techniques and quick release once ball is caught. Also expect a healthy dose of throwing using outfield crow hop, infield cross step, lobbing, back hand toss and throwing to increase ball speed. We'll work on catching with two hand target and catch along with feet placement for catching at each base to include home plate.
Note: This is NOT a beginner's clinic. Girls registering for this clinic should already have solid fundamentals in hitting, throwing, and fielding. Be prepared to work.
