Welcome to the registration for NVGSA recreational (house) softball! Our Spring season runs late March to early June. There are typically two events per week - a weeknight practice and a Saturday game or practice. Our league teaches players softball while emphasizing sportsmanship and a supportive environment.

While our fields may change, you can see the typical fields for our eastern and western divisions on this map.

Ages are measured from the child's age on August 31, 2025 So, if your daughter turned 9 on September 1, and was still 8 on August 31, her league age is 8 for the Spring 2026 season and she is eligible for 8 & Under division play this season. You can find a birth chart here. Should you have questions please register for the division that matches her birth year and contact the appropriate age group commissioners, who you can email here. DO NOT simply register, put a note in the special requests about age divisions, and expect to have your request automatically honored. You must email the commissioners. Note the increased cost for the older age divisions covers paying umpires at those ages.

During registration you will have the opportunity to volunteer for non-coaching roles while filing out the player registration form and coaching roles on the next page. Coaches will receive training! Please take a look at the current positions of need and consider signing up. Someone will contact you after you express interest with further steps.

·        February 23 - Virginia High School League (VHSL) softball tryouts may begin; good luck to all trying out!

·        March 1 - Waitlist opens, late fee applies

NVGSA is pleased to offer our 10U, 12U and 18U house players an additional opportunity to take the field under the Dimensions program. The Dimensions program is offered as an augmentation program for NVGSA’s traditional recreational league and is specifically designed to:

Registration for Dimensions is a two-step process. Filling out the registration form expresses your interest in the program for your player - you will not pay at that time. NVGSA Management will look at the interested players and available coaches and form Dimensions teams at as many age groups as possible. Once these teams are formed, players who are able to be placed on a team will be sent a tryout acceptance email. On accepting their place on the team, you will pay for your player's participation. For any registrants who are not able to be placed on a team due to the wrong number of players at that age group or a lack of coach, an email will be sent notifying you. If you do not hear immediately after the season begins, this simply means that NVGSA Management is continuing to search as hard as possible for players and coaches to fill out a team. Please note that registration for Dimensions does not guarantee a spot on a team. Coaches have discretion over which players are on a team and if there are more interested players than slots coaches or the NVGSA board may select the players on the team.

Please consider volunteering to be a Dimensions coach or assistant coach to ensure we can form teams this season.

Welcome to the 2026 Spring 10U Teen Umpires Registration with NVGSA!

NVGSA utilizes teen umpires for our 10U games.  This is an excellent opportunity for teens age 14 and up who love the game and wish to participate in a new and unique way. Umpiring will deepen their own understanding of and broaden their experiences with the game (not to mention they will make some cash or earn some community service hours). All of our teen umpires are carefully selected and undergo a mandatory training regime.  

Registration is required, click the link below to complete the registration form. After submitting your registration form you will receive additional instructions and a list of items to bring to training.

Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately.

NVGSA proudly offers generous registration scholarships to families in need of financial assistance. While it is not necessarily a requirement for the scholarship, most families already participate in the Fairfax County Public Schools Free and Reduced Lunch Program, or in similar government assistance programs. Any family seeking the scholarship need only complete this simple request form to be considered.

If you require a scholarship, fill out this registration all the way through checkout BEFORE registering for House or Dimensions. You must complete this registration to be considered. Then you can come back and complete a House (and optionally Dimensions) registration.

Please note that you do NOT need to fill out this form and register for this program if you do not require a scholarship in order to play. If you do require a scholarship, please be prepared to provide our board with the requested information in the form.
